How FDE licensing works
Trial license (automatic)
During installation, Cigent FDE automatically generates a 30 day trial license.
Permanent license (subscription required)
To move from the trial license to a permanent license, generate a license key using the Request Code from the FDE application, then activate it on the endpoint.
Note
During installation, the trial license is generated along with a unique Workstation ID.
View licensing in the Windows application

In Windows, open the Cigent FDE application.

Go to License.
On the License page, you can view the current license state and copy the Request Code used to generate a permanent license key.
Activate a permanent license key
Use this process if you already have a Cigent FDE subscription and need to activate the system permanently.
Step 1: Copy the Request Code from the endpoint

Open the Cigent FDE application and go to License.

Select Copy to copy the Request Code.
Step 2: Generate a license key in the Cigent console

Go to https://central.cigent.com/ and sign in.

Navigate to Your Products.

Under your Full Drive Encryption subscription, select the Full Drive Encryption product link.

Paste the Request Code into the Request Code field, then select Generate License.

Select Copy License to copy the generated license key.
Step 3: Activate the license key on the endpoint

Return to the endpoint and open the Cigent FDE application.

Go to License.

Paste the license key into the License Key field, then select Activate.
When activation completes, the system is fully licensed.
